Shane Gibson from Sacred Heart has earned StatSheet's NEC Player of the Week award for January 21st. Central Connecticut State's Brandon Peel has won StatSheet NEC Freshman of the Week. And finally, Bryant's Joe O`Shea has won StatSheet's NEC 6th Man of the Week. Gibson had huge numbers in shooting (50%), rebounding (5.5 per game), and three pointers (3 per game). The Sacred Heart senior played well in a win versus St. Francis (PA) and a loss to Robert Morris.

Gibson topped all scoring and rebounding for the Pioneers with 27 points and 6 rebounds in a 66-62 loss to Robert Morris. He followed that up with a team-leading 23 points plus an additional 5 rebounds in a narrow 75-72 victory against St. Francis (PA).

This is the second StatSheet NEC Player of the Week honor for Shane Gibson. The runner-up this week is senior Jamal Olasewere from Long Island. Honorable mention goes to junior Alex Francis from Bryant. The highest ranking player from Quinnipiac was Ike Azotam who finished seventh.

StatSheet NEC Freshman of the Week: Central Connecticut State's Brandon Peel

In an 80-75 loss to Mount St. Mary's, he led rebounding with 11 and added 3 assists.

This marks the second time this season that Brandon Peel has won the StatSheet NEC Freshman of the Week. The runner-up is De`Aires Tate from Sacred Heart. Honorable mention goes to Christian White from Monmouth.

StatSheet NEC 6th Man of the Week: Bryant's Joe O`Shea
